Who You Gonna Call?

Ghostbusters 3 is now in the works, and Hollywood is abuzz with casting rumors. Harold Ramis; aka Dr. Egon Spengler, but better know as Seth Rogen’s dad in Knocked up;has given his blessing to the project, but apparently Egon will not be a central character. So, who will be the Ghostbusters, Next Generation?

You can send a tan jumpsuit and proton pack to Seth Rogen, Bill Hader and Jonah Hil, but who will play the straight-talking, inexperienced sidekick role originated by Ernie Hudson? Sadly, Bernie Mac was rumoured to be the first choice, and Romany Malco, pre-Love Guru,  was the next choice until he was eclipsed by the most exciting choice for a comedy role ever, the pitbull with lipstick Gov. Sarah Palin. Sources report she’s already researching the role by spending time with the closest thing to a real ghost, John McCain.

As for the other roles, the “Gatekeeper” will be played by Lindsay Lohan and the “Keymaster” will be played by her Dad, Michael Lohan. Gozer the Gozarian was to be played by the scariest person in America, Dick Cheney, but producers wanted someone less obviously evil. Alec Baldwin and Hillary Clinton are now the top runners.

The lovable ghost character, Slimer, is planned as a juicy, Cameo role, alla Tom Cruise in “Tropic Thunder”, which has sparked interest from every B-list celebrity in America. Of course, there is only one person with the right mix of playful creepiness that allows him to get close to a person and then leaves them feeling slimy. No, it’s not Charlie Sheen. It’s Andy Dick. There has been no word of whether or not Ray Parker Jr. will be stealing the theme song.
