Jon & Kate Don’t Mistreat Dogs, Just Children

Is this considered cheating?

Jon Gosselin, from TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8, has responded after People Magazine alleged his family abuses its dogs. Several people have complained to the Humane Society of Berks County, Pennsylvania about the family’s pets. However, Gosselin promises only the well being of his children, and not his dogs, is being compromised.

In a statement released Friday, Gosselin stated, “We in no way mistreat our dogs. We consider them part of the family. Now, as for our children, who are actually part of our family, we have no problem subjecting them to media scrutiny and publicly exploiting our private problems for fame and money.”

And as for claims that Kate has taken her aggression out on the dogs, Jon says that this is false. “She only takes her aggression out on me or the children. But never the dogs. For even insinuating that, you’d have to be a gross, disgusting human being.”

The constant media attention has taken its toll on Gosselin, and says this dog situation is just the tip of the iceberg. “I didn’t sign up for this.” Jon says, repeating his constant mantra. “When TLC had me sign a contract to have cameras constantly follow my family, I didn’t sign up for this.”
