Kanye Decides He Needs More Attention

Kanye West Taylor Swift

For an award show known for surprises (Madonna kissing Britney, Russell Brand claiming he molested at least one of the Jonas Brothers), the VMAs 2009 presented one more.

Kanye West, eternal five year old screaming for more attention, decided to get on stage and tell everyone how much he loved Beyonce’s music video. Only he decided the proper time was during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.

One should note that this is not the first time Kanye has pulled such a stunt. During his high school graduation, while David Wei was giving his valedictorian address, Kanye jumped on stage, took the microphone, and said Mel Steinburg had gotten some of the best grades of all time. Because he’s Kanye, everyone began cheering and Mr. Wei was escorted off-stage.

But some say Kanye’s stunts have gotten out of hand, such as during Barack Obama’s recent health care reform speech. Kanye took the microphone from the president’s hands, said: “Barack, I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish, but Representative John Dingell’s bill H.R. 3200 is one of the best bills on health care reform of all time! One of the best bills on health care reform of all time!

Some members of the House of Representatives are looking to censure him, but everyone knows that’s impossible.
